Help Index :: Misc :: Botting

Botting is defined as running a character on scripts while not actively paying
attention to the mud client. Creating triggers that automatically eat or
drink for you, or even prevent voiding, does not constitute botting. Creating
triggers that run zones or spam spells while you are AFK IS botting.

Botting is allowed within the parameters specified in this policy. We
recognize that this game has a social dynamic at its foundation that can be
compromised by botting. This policy aims to balance the use of automation
(botting) while preserving the social aspects of the game.

PARAMETERS

* When running specific area(s) players should announce or communicate their
intentions. This can be done via the gossip channel, setting your title, or
some other method that clearly informs other players to expect your actions.

* Idling is permitted within designated areas: towns, clan stronholds, player
houses. These locations are subject to change and players may be moved or
asked to move by the game's administrators.

* Players must maintain daily contact with the game, responding to status
inquiries within 12 hours. This ensures engagement and allows administrators
to enforce the policy if necessary.

Maintaining contact with the game can be through any available communication
method including channels, tells, mudmail, TFE's Discord server, and email
with TFE administrators.

DISPUTES

Players should first try to resolve area control disputes through in-game
communication. If a player becomes disruptive (e.g. idling in zone another
player desires) and is unresponsive, players should seek help from trusted
individuals like clan members to resolve the situation.

As a last resort, players can report the issue to administrators using the
"request" command. When requests are made the investigation will require
waiting for a response from the player according to policy (response required
within 12 hours).

Repeat offenders are subject to be banned at the discretion of administrators.
